Account & Data Deletion
ExamScanify is designed with a privacy-first, local-only architecture. This means your student data and exam records never leave your device.
1How to Delete Your Account
Because ExamScanify (developed by Drift Apps) operates locally, you have full control over your data. To permanently delete your account and all associated records:
Step 1: In-App Deletion
Open the app and go to Account → Delete Account. This will immediately wipe the local SQLite database.
Step 2: Uninstall App
Uninstalling the application from your Android device settings will also remove all local storage and cached images permanently.
2What Data is Deleted?
When you use the delete function or uninstall the app, the following data is wiped from your device:
SQLite Database
All student names, ID numbers, exam keys, and historical scores.
Camera Images
Any saved crops of answer sheets stored in the app's private directory.
Auth Metadata
Your login tokens and basic profile association (used only for identification).
3Data Retention & Privacy
Our system follows a **Zero-Retention Policy** for your educational data:
- No Cloud Sync: We do not upload your students' names or exam scores to any cloud server.
- Instant Deletion: Once you tap delete, the filesystem reference to the database is removed immediately. No backup or "soft delete" period exists.
- No Secondary Storage: We do not keep copies of your data on external servers for analytical or marketing purposes.
Finality of Deletion
Because we do not have a cloud backup of your data, deletion is permanent and irreversible. We cannot recover your scores or student lists once they are deleted from your device.
